Ismaily were eliminated at the hands of Tunisia’s Bizertin despite claiming a 1-0 win on Sunday.
Ismaily became the second Egyptian team to exit the African Confederation Cup on Sunday as a 1-0 home win over Tunisia’s Bizertin was not enough to lift them to the competition’s group stage.
Midfielder Ahmed Khairy sent a powerful header into the back of the net following a corner three minutes before the break but Bizertin reached the next round with a 3-1 aggregate win, having crushed the Dervishes 3-0 in the first leg two weeks ago.
