A delightful first-half goal from Ivorian striker Souleymane Coulibaly gave Ahly an easy 1-0 Egyptian league win over minnows Tanta at Cairo’s El-Salam Stadium on Monday.

Coulibaly scored his fifth goal for the Cairo giants when he eluded a Tanta defender inside the area with his right foot before finding the net with his left in the 35th minute.

The victory cemented Ahly’s position at the top of the league table with 67 points, 10 ahead of second-placed Maqassa and a massive 21-point clear of third-placed and arch-foes Zamalek.

Tanta are in 14th spot on 24 points, just four ahead of the relegation zone.
