SALAH is looking for another African Footballer of the Year Award

BBC announced on Saturday its shortlist for “African Footballer of the Year”. For the second year in a row, the Egyptian King Mohamed Salah made the list.

The list of finalists, as announced by BBC, also included Salah’s Senegalese teammate Sadio Manè; Morocco’s Medhi Benatia, who plays for Juventus; and Senegal’s Kalidou Koulibaly, who has had a stellar season with Napoli. Also joining the list is Ghana’s Thomas Partey, who plays for Atletico Madrid.

Salah enters the contest on strong grounds as the Egyptian King continued his stellar performance from last season.

The Liverpool star started 2018 strongly, proving that 2017 was not a coincidence, as he went on to score another 21 goals, bringing his total number of goal to 44 in 52 matches.

He also helped the Reds reach the Champions League final for the first time in years, earning him several titles, including PFA Player Players of the Year.

Should Salah win the award for the second year in a row, he’d be the first to do so since Nigeria’s Jay-Jay Okocha in 2002.
