Ahly’s Rami Rabia linked with Hull City switch

The Tigers are being linked with a loan move for Al Ahly defender Rami Rabia, who recently played at the Under-20 World Cup and won the African Cup of Nations with Egypt.

However, the sticking point to signing the 20-year-old appears to be the fact he has not played 75 per cent of the Egyptian national team’s games, meaning he would not qualify for a work permit.

According to the player’s agent Mamdouh Eid, who also engineered Gedo’s move to the Tigers, he is hoping to get around the paper work on the basis the centre-back – who also plays as a defensive midfielder – is an ‘extraordinary talent’.

Bruce has been interested in bringing Mahmoud Kahraba to City on trial from ENPPI in summer, but work permit issues also scuppered that deal and he later joined Swiss side FC Luzern.
