Egyptian giants Zamalek moved a step closer to the quarterfinals, defeating Zambian visitors Zesco United 2-0 at the Cairo based Al Salam Stadium on Friday night, in Group A Match Day 4.

Moroccan import Achraf Bencharki gave Zamalek the lead after just four minutes, while Mostafa Mohamed scored a minute from time, as Zamalek raised their tally to seven points, tied with DR Congo’s TP Mazembe on top of the group. Zesco remained on two points with two matches to go.

TP Mazembe entertains Angola’s Primeiro de Agosto in the other Group A game on Saturday in Lubumbashi.
