Al Ahly eyes on Olivier Karekezi (Video)

According to HamKam CEO Tor Rullestad, Egypt’s Al-Ahly, who are chasing Rwandan international Olivier Karekezi, will have to break the bank to land the Amavubi skipper.

In a report posted in The Times News, the Norwegian spoke about the situation surrounding Karekezi.

“We are in negotiations, and it is too early to say anything concrete, but the signals are that Al-Ahly still want to buy Karekezi,” Rullestad said.

“Olivier is our biggest selling item. We will require a good sum of around $1 million [€700,000] for him to go anywhere.”

The former APR star moved to HamKam after spending three seasons with Swedish club Helsingborg.

His potential switch to Al-Ahly, Egypt and Africa’s most successful club, would be a boost to his career and the national team, particularly at this time when the squad is struggling in its campaign to qualify for the 2010 World Cup and African Nations Cup.
