Egypt held to a 1-1 draw by Oman in a friendly game on Wednesday in Muscat.

Egypt conceded a late goal by Oman’s striker Abdel-Aziz Al-Meqbally in injury time to hold to a 1-1 draw with Oman in a friendly game on Wednesday.
Harras El-Hodoud striker Ahmed Hassan Mekki opened the scoring for the Pharaohs in the 60th minute of the game when he converted a cross from his teammate Hosny Abderabou.

In the first half, Egypt dominated possession but struggled to create clear-cut chances.

The 39 minute of the game witnessed a penalty for the hosts following to an illegal intervention from Egypt’s defender Mahmoud Alaa against Oman’s striker in the Area, but Egypt’s goalkeeper thwarted Walid Saady’s to end the first halftime with a goalless draw.

The Pharaohs, who played without Ahly and Zamalek players, occupied with their clubs in the CAF Champions League, wasted many chances of scoring in the second halftime due to their lack of concentration and they were punished by Abdel-Aziz Al-Meqbally goal in the injury time when a defensive lapse allowed him to shoot from 12 meters.

Egypt are preparing their game against Zimbabwe in their third Group G game of the 2014 World Cup qualifiers set to be played next March.

The Pharaohs are leading the group G with six points following to two successive win against Mozambique and Guinea.
