Al Ahly v El Gouna FC | Egyptian League | Match Preview

Al Ahly are preparing to claim the leading position in the Egyptian Premier League as they confront Gouna in a rescheduled match from the fourth matchday on Saturday.

The current titleholders are committed to prolonging their winning streak following a flawless start to their domestic season. They secured victories against Masry, Ismaily, Arab Contractors, and clinched a hard-fought injury-time win over Ceramica Cleopatra on Wednesday.

Despite their strong performance, the Red Devils find themselves in second place in the league table with 12 points, trailing leaders Pyramids FC by just one point. Pyramids FC, however, have played two more games.

Unfortunately, the Cairo giants will be without the services of Mahmoud “Kahraba” Abdel-Moneim, who is serving a six-match ban, as well as Moroccan winger Reda Slim, midfielder Amr El-Sulaya, and defensive duo Akram Tawfik and Ali Maaloul, all sidelined due to injuries.

Conversely, Gouna, presently positioned 10th in the league with eight points derived from two victories, two draws, and one loss, is aiming to secure their third consecutive win. They have already triumphed over Pharco FC and Dakhleya.

In their prior meeting last season, Ahly claimed a 2-0 victory against El Gouna, breaking a streak of four draws between the two teams in both the league and the League Cup.
