“The Wydad match will be a difficult one. The Ahly players need to fully concentrate to achieve a positive result that keeps our hopes of continuing our Champions League campaign successfully,” Ghlay was quoted as saying by Ahly’s official website.

“The chance of reaching the semi-finals is difficult but not impossible. Ahly players realise this fact well and refuse to give up as they are determined to get a positive result in Morocco,” former Tottenham midfielder Ghaly explained.

The Cairo giants are suffering from a shortage in the front line after the departure of Gabon’s Malick Evouna & the wonder-kid Ramadan Sobhi while Ghanaian striker John Antwi is still doubtful for the game after sustaining an injury during last week’s game against Wydad at home.

Despite tailing Group A of the CAF Champions League with only one point, Ahly’s Dutch coach Martin Jol has stated he still hopes to reach the next stage.

The eight-time African champions need to win their remaining three matches, including two away games against Wydad and ASEC, to stand a chance of booking one of two group tickets to the semifinals.
