Hibernian have given out-of-favour striker Abdessallam Benjelloun permission to hold talks with Egyptian club Al Ahly.
The 24-year-old Moroccan international has struggled at Easter Road since moving from Maghreb Fez in 2006.
And he spent loan spells in Belgium with Royal Charleroi and KSV Roeselare.
Benjelloun criticised Hibs’ tactics under Mixu Paatelainen and it appears he does not figure in new manager John Hughes’s plans.
BBC Scotland has learned that it is unlikely Benjelloun will return to Edinburgh. Al Ahly play Celtic in the Wembley Cup on Friday.
