Ahmed Hassan Unhappy with doping accusations!

Ahli veteran Ahmed Hassan expressed his dismay at Zamalek’s recent implications that some Egyptian league teams use performance-enhancing drugs.

Zamalek issued an official request to the Egyptian FA asking for an accurate assessment for doping tests, for the sake of ‘fair competition’.

The request, launched through football director Ibrahim Hassan, was clearly addressing the Whites’ arch-rivals Ahli.

“It’s a shame that Ibrahim Hassan accuses us of using performance enhancers,” the Egypt skipper told Modern Sport TV.

“Ahli players present half of the national team selection. I think it is unacceptable to accuse old players like me, (Mohamed) Abou-Treika and (Mohamed) Barakat.

“However, we are ready to be examined starting from the next league match.”

Hassan indicated that Zamalek boss Hossam Hassan, who quit at 40, should know better about the whole case.

“Hossam Hassan was incredibly active and determined, but no one questioned his integrity because we all know he has been a great talent,” the 35-year-old added.
