Ismaily failed to win for the second consecutive league game following a 1-1 draw at home to Police Union on Friday.
A superb acrobatic effort from striker Ahmed Ali was not enough to hand Ismaily a much-needed win after they were held to a 1-1 draw at home to Police Union in the Egyptian Premier League on Friday. Police Union, playing before a few number of Ismaily fans in coastal city Ismailia on a chilly night, took the lead five minutes after the break.
The referee controversially pointed to the spot after Ismaily midfielder Hosni Abd-Rabou pushed El-Shorta forward Salah Ashour on the edge of the area. Ashour sent the keeper the wrong way to put his side in front.
Striker Ali equalized in the 65th minute via an impressive effort, meeting a right-wing cross with a bicycle kick that bounced in front of the keeper and went into the corner of the net from just inside the area.
Ismaily, who suffered a surprise 2-1 defeat by Smouha in their previous game, are fifth in the league table with 21 points, seven behind leaders Harras El-Hodoud who have a game in hand.
