Al Ahly of Cairo and AC Leopards of Congo Brazzaville will go head-to-head today for the Super Cup.
The annual one-off game is played between the winners of the Caf Champions League and the Confederation Cup.
Champions League winners Ahly may have a slight advantage as the match will be held in a military-owned 85,000-capacity stadium in the Egyptian resort of Borg El Arab in Alexandria.
And they will experience rare support after the temporary lifting of a ban on their fans that has been in place since the Port Said tragedy – a ban which meant they played six of their seven Champions League home games behind closed doors last year.
