Al Ahly will face Smouha FC in Saturday’s Egyptian Premier League game.
Al Ahly grabed a 2-0 victory over Milatiry Productions in their Egyptian Premier League opener but they are likely to face a sterner test against Smouha on Saturday, given their mounting injury problems.
The Red Devils will have to do without five key players when they face Alexandria-based club Smouha, who also claimed an opening victory after defeating Ghazl El-Mahalla 1-0.
Ahly’s doctor Ehab Ali told the club website that midfielder Hossam Ashour and defenders Rami Rabea, Sayed Moawad and Sherif Abdel-Fadil have been ruled out of the game.
“They still need more time to recover but they will join training again after the Smouha game,” Ali added.
Egyptian international striker Emad Meteb is also out, having suffered a hamstring injury that will sidelined him for at least six weeks. Midfielder Shehab Ahmed is doubtful due to flu.
