Mohamed Elneny’s Basel were crowned Swiss champions for the fifth time in a row.
One week before the final round, the holders won 3-1 at Aarau to retain a four-point gap with closest rivals Grasshoppers.
Egypt midfielder Elneny played the whole match for Basel, winning his second straight title with the club.
The 21-year-old becomes the first Egyptian to win two league titles in Europe.
Winger Mohamed Salah, who left for Chelsea in January, is also part of Basel’s success having featured in 18 games this season.
