The Egyptian FA has announced on its official website that Egypt’s new coach will be revealed on Saturday.
Following a meeting of the football association’s board of directors, the governing body said they had already selected the new manager, but will only reveal his name next week.
The Egypt hot seat has been vacant following the termination of the contract of Shawky Gharib, who failed to guide the Pharaohs to the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations after they finished bottom of their qualifying group.
Record seven-time African champions Egypt set an unwanted record of failing to qualify for the Nations Cup for three straight times, having made their last appearance in the 2010 edition in Angola where they lifted the trophy after beating Ghana in the final.
