Egypt under 23’s national football team drew 1-1 with their counterpart in Kenya on Saturday to book their place in the second round of an All-Africa Games qualifier on Sunday.
The young pharaohs forward Mahmoud ‘Kahraba’ Abdel-Moneam opened the score 17 minutes after the start with a penalty kick, six minutes before Kenya managed to net the equalizer also from a penalty kick.
Despite their domination in terms of possession during the game, the visitors failed to score from their many chances.
Egypt won the first leg in Cairo 3-0 last week to secure a place in the second round of the All-Africa Games qualifier as the two leg-game finished with a 4-1 win for the Pharaohs on aggregate.
Egypt U-23s team will face the winner of the DR Congo and Burundi game.
