Mohamed Salah joins Egypt’s training camp
Egyptian midfielder Mohamed Salah arrived to Cairo Wednesday to join the Pharaohs training camp ahead of the Chad clash in the African qualifiers.
Egypt will face Chad on Sunday in a match that will take place in N’Djamena at 15:00 Cairo local time.
The 23-year-old produced a fine display during his side’s 2-1 win over the Serie A giants on Sunday.
Salah is among seven foreign-based players called up for the African clash.
However, Zamalek’s defender Ali Gabr has been ruled out from the squad that will travel to Chad on Thursday due to injury.
According to Pharaohs’ doctor, the Zamalek defender needs five days of rest and will not be available for Sunday’s clash.
After comfortably beating Tanzania 3-0 in June in Group G’s only game so far, Egypt will be looking for a win against Chad to stay top of the group table, which also includes Nigeria and Tanzania.
