Zamalek still can’t win in the Egyptian Premier League
Zamalek extended their poor run to four matches and fell behind further in the race to obtain an African Confederation Cup spot after a 0-0 draw with Arab Contractors in the Egyptian Premier League on Wednesday.
The ailing Cairo giants, playing their first game under caretaker coach Khaled Galal following the departure of Ehab Galal last week, were guilty of missing a host of goal-scoring chances either side of the interval.
The draw against Contractors, which came after three straight losses, leaves Zamalek third in the table with 55 points.
However, fourth-placed Masry, who have 52 points, still have four matches in hand which could give them a comfortable nine-point advantage over Zamalek as they chase a Confederation Cup spot.
