Slick Al Ahly crush Al Masry SC 3-0 in the Egyptian League | VIDEO
Al Ahly side edged closer to equaling a club record after chalking up their 15th straight victory in the Egyptian Premier League by crushing struggling Masry 3-0 on Friday.
Walid Soliman missed a sitter after four minutes but Tunisian left-back Ali Maaloul made amends by converting a ninth-minute penalty after he was hauled down by a Masry defender.
Despite their early lead, Ahly looked vulnerable at the back on several occasions as Masry wasted some goal-scoring opportunities in the second half.
Masry’s best chance came in the 72nd minute when Palestinian striker Mahmoud Wadi got the better of defender Rami Rabia, only to see his close-range effort smothered by keeper Mohamed El-Shennawi.
However, two late strikes from Nigerian forward Junior Ajayi and substitute Mahmoud Kahraba ensured Ahly’s win.
Kahraba wreaked havoc after coming on, holding off a couple of challengers to feed Ajayi, who cut inside a defender and planted the ball into the bottom corner seven minutes from time.

Ajayi returned the favour in stoppage time, his lofted ball finding Kahraba who chested it down and drilled past the keeper.
Ahly maintained their winning streak and are just two wins short of equaling a record of the best start to a top-flight campaign when they won their opening 17 matches in the 2004/2005 season.
The Red Devils, who are firm favourites to clinch a fifth straight league title, are on top of the table with a maximum 45 points, a staggering 13 ahead of second-placed Arab Contractors, who played two games more.
They next face Cairo rivals Zamalek in the Egyptian Super Cup on Thursday before meeting them again in the league four days later.
