Al Ahly beat Sundowns 2-0 in Cairo | CAF Champions League | Highlights
Cairo Stadium hosted another great Egyptian triumph within two days as El Ahly avenged last year’s defeat against South African Sundowns beating them with 2 clean goals. The Red Giants’victory put the one step closer to their dream of qualifying through the ranks of the CAF Champions League.
El Ahly didn’t quite seem to be in their regular forms within the first half as they wasted the very few chances they implemented, while the South African team did nothing but weather the storm.
Maaloul scored El Ahly’s first goal after penetrating through Sundowns defenses placing the ball into the far right corner open in the scoring. Maaloul came back to score his team’s second goal after Aliou Badji was tackled inside the box in the 68th minute.
The win puts El Ahly in front with a significant margin, awaiting the return match to be held.
