Paul Pogba is set to leave Manchester United
Paul Pogba is set to leave Manchester United and return to Juventus when the transfer window opens, according to L’Equipe.
The France midfielder arrived to Old Trafford from Turin in 2016 for a reported fee of £89 million. Since then, he’s gone on to make a total of 150 appearances in all competitions for United, scoring and assisting 31 time apiece and helping them win the League Cup and the Europa League in his first season there. However, he has spent a large part of this season on the sidelines due to recurring ankle problems, and there’s an overwhelming feeling that the 27-year-old hasn’t lived up to the expectations his big-money move had announced.
He was linked heavily with Real Madrid for a long time, but the Spanish giants recently reportedly decided not to pursue the transfer. A return to Juventus has also been mentioned before, and it seems now the media in his homeland believe he is on the verge of completing it.
Adrien Rabiot, who moved to Juventus from Paris Saint-Germain last year as a free agent but has also failed to impress, could be used as a makeweight.
