Zamalek SC, Ismaily SC reports more COVID-19 cases
Egyptian Premier League clubs Ismaily and Zamalek have reported more coronavirus infection cases in the second round of tests conducted by the Egyptian Football Association (EFA).
On Friday, Zamalek announced that a first-team player a staff member had tested positive for the coronavirus. The affected individuals have not been identified.
It’s worth noting that Zamalek goalkeeper Mohamed Awad had announced that he contracted coronavirus last week and declared he was negative 7 days later.
At the same time, Ismaily announced on Saturday that they have found two COVID-19 positive cases in the second round of testing.
They also explained that positive results will be disclosed privately in order to respect the player’s privacy
The Egyptian Premier League is set to resume on 7 August after being halted for almost five months.
Al Ahly are on top of the league table while Zamalek lie fourth and Ismaily are ninth after 18 rounds of matches.
