Ismaily’s Abdelrahman Magdy lands trial with Dutch giants Ajax
Dutch giants Ajax have invited Egyptian youngster Abdelrahman Magdy to a trial, the player’s agent has claimed.
The 22-year-old winger is currently contracted to Egyptian Premier League side Ismaily and has made over 60 appearances for the club since 2017.
Magdy put in impressive performances at the 2019 U-23 Africa Cup of Nations catching the eyes of several bigger clubs including Egyptian rivals Al Ahly and Zamalek.
“Some of the Dutch clubs were interested in Magdy after the U23 AFCON, but everything stopped due to the coronavirus outbreak,” Magdy’s agent Mohamed Helmy said.
“Ajax is interested in taking Magdy on a trial in return for a fee to Ismaily as well as a sell-on fee percentage, but we are waiting for Ismaily’s decision.
“Ajax’s interest is the most serious out of all the other offers.
“Abdelrahman Magdy has three years left on his current contract as he only just extended it last season,” he added.
Helmy also added that two clubs out of Al Ahly, Zamalek, and Pyramids FC want to sign the player this summer.
Magdy has made 16 appearances for Ismaily this season, scoring once while assisting twice as the club currently sit ninth and were knocked out of the Egypt Cup in the Round of 16.
