Former Egypt international forward Mohamed Nagy ‘Gedo’ has announced his retirement from football with immediate effect at age 36.
The former Al Ahly SC forward made his debut for the Egypt national team against Malawi on 29 December 2009.
Gedo was later named as part of the 2010 African Cup of Nations squad.
He was the top scorer of the 2010 Africa Cup of Nations in Angola where the Pharaohs emerged as champions.

Gedo also played for English side Hull City & Egyptian League clubs: Arab Contractors, El-Entag El Harby, El Gouna FC, and Al Ittihad of Alexandria.
The player announced he will start his training career from this day by preparing for a coaching license, to keep on track of the game he loves most.
