Zamalek side extended their winless start to their African Champions League group-stage campaign to two games after they were held to a goalless draw away to debutants Teungueth of Senegal on Tuesday.

Minnows Teungueth were more than a match to their illustrious opponents, who created a few goal-scoring chances as fatigue looked to have taken a toll following a long, delayed flight to Senegal.

Teungueth could have also snatched a stunning win when Elhadji Omar Fall blasted high over from a good scoring position eight minutes past the hour mark.

Zamalek’s second consecutive 0-0 draw, after they had also failed to break down MC Alger at home in their opening game, left them second in Group D with two points, one behind leaders Esperance, who face MC Alger (third with one point) later on Tuesday.

Teungueth bagged their first point after they lost to Tunisia’s Esperance in their opening match.
