After 3-0 Triumph Over Man United, Salah Hints at Final Year with Liverpool

Mo Salah has revealed that he plans to leave Liverpool at the end of the season, with contract talks between the Reds and the Egyptian star still at a standstill.

Salah played a crucial role in Liverpool’s impressive 3-0 victory over Manchester United on Sunday afternoon, scoring a goal and providing two assists. However, this performance at Old Trafford may have been his last, as he dropped a bombshell about his future during a post-match interview with Sky Sports.

When former Liverpool teammate Daniel Sturridge asked him about the summer’s speculation and his preparation for the season, Salah surprised fans by saying, “I had a good summer, took time to reflect, and think positively, because as you know, this is my last year with the club.”

I just want to enjoy it; I don’t want to overthink things. I feel free to play football, and we’ll see what happens next year.”

When asked if this might be his last game at Old Trafford, Salah added, “As I was heading to the game, I thought, ‘This could be my last time here.’ No one from the club has spoken to me about a new contract yet, so I’ll just focus on playing out my final season and see what happens at the end.”

Sturridge expressed his hope that Salah would stay, to which the 32-year-old replied, “It’s not up to me. No one from the club has reached out to me, but we’ll see.”

Slot responded

When asked about Salah’s comments during his post-match press conference, Slot responded: “There’s a lot of speculation. Right now, he’s one of ours, and I’m really, really happy about that.

“He’s playing exceptionally well. While I don’t discuss player contracts, I could talk for hours about how Mo performed today. Are you interested in that? He was impressive, just like in the first two games.

Salah was the target of a stunning £150 million bid from Al-Ittihad in the summer of 2023, but Liverpool turned it down.
