CAF Champions League Group stage draw 2023/24

The official draw for the CAF Champions League Group Stage took place on Friday, October 6th, in Johannesburg, South Africa, unveiling some exciting matchups for the tournament.

Here is the complete lineup for the group stage draw of the African Champions League.

Sixteen formidable African football clubs have been distributed into four groups of four to establish the group stages of the competition. The initial set of matches is slated for November 24th to 25th.

Group A, featuring the 2016 champions Mamelodi Sundowns, includes Egypt’s Pyramids FC, the 2015 titleholders TP Mazembe, and FC Nouadhibou from Mauritania.

Group B in the current season features the finalists from the previous year, Wydad Casablanca, alongside Tanzania’s Simba SC, Cote d’Ivoire’s Asec Mimosas, and Botswana’s Jwaneng Galaxy, who made waves by defeating prominent clubs on their way to the group stages.

In a challenging Group C, Esperance of Tunisia will face off against Angola’s Atletico Petroleos, the unpredictable Al Hilal of Sudan, and their Tunisian counterparts, ES Sahel.

The reigning champions, Al Ahly SC, will lead Group D, setting the stage for a thrilling North African derby against Algeria’s CR Belouizdad. Joining them are Tanzania’s Young Africans, who secured second place in the CAF Confederation Cup, and Ghana’s Medeama, eager to create upsets in the group.
