Belgian club Standard de Liege have completed the signing of Egyptian international Emad Moteab on a free transfer. The 27 year old striker has signed a two year contract that also contains an option for an extra year. Moteab arrives at Standard from Egyptian giants Al Ahly, where he scored nearly 100 goals in 186 appearances over six seasons.
Standard were looking at attacking reinforcements following the departures of Igor de Camargo and Milan Jovanovic to Borussia Monchengladbach and Liverpool respectively.
Standard played in the Champions League and Europa League last season. They reached the last eight of the latter before bowing out to Hamburger SV. However Standard had a poor domestic season as they finished a lowly 9th in the Belgian first division.
