Former winners Egypt got off their campaigns at the ninth edition of the CAF U-17 Championship on a winning note with 2-1 victories over Senegal respectively on Saturday at the Amahoro Stadium.
Egypt bounced back to beat Senegal thanks to second half strikes from Mahmoud Abdelmonem and Mohamed Rashad after Ndiaye Ibrahima had put the debutants in the lead in the 21st minute.
Rwanda and Egypt share top spot on three points apiece with Burkina Faso and Senegal in that order pointless.
