�Meteb underwent scans and will be sidelined for six weeks with a left-ribs fracture,� Ahly doctor Walid Abdel-Baky told Al Ahram.
�Meteb will be hospitalized for 24 hours to make sure he doesn�t sustain more injuries,” he added.
The 27-year old forward clashed with Wadi Degla goalkeeper Haytham Mohammed within the first 10 minutes of their friendly game on Saturday; hereby Meteb was sent off to the players� room and didn�t complete the match.
The Egyptian league holders Ahly were eager to boost their frontline after signing a three and half year contract with their former star Meteb, whose deal with Belgian giants Standard Liege collapsed in the summer.
Meteb resumed full training in December after spending�five months on the sidelines due to a back injury�and began to cement his�place in the team’s�line-up by playing friendly games.
