Belgian giants Anderlecht offered another half million EUROS to sign Zamalek’s flamboyant winger, “Shikabala” but Zamalek upped their price tag
The Egyptian league leaders Zamalek have declined a €2.5million offer and set a €4.5million price tag in order to release their talisman, Mahmoud Abdel-Razel “Shikabala.”
“Anderlecht first offered €2m then raised their offer to buy Shikabala’s contract, seeing that he will be a free agent in January, but the board declined the offer and asked for €4.5million,” Zamalek marketing manager, Ashraf Sobhy said to Ahram Online.
The Belgium champions have been chasing the 24 year-old Egyptian wiz since last year and came close to forcing a move last summer, but the player made a u-turn and remained with Zamalek.
The former Paok forward has been in a scintillating form this season, scoring 9 goals in 18 league games to top the scorers’ chart.
Shikabala – whose contract expires in January 2012 – is likely to move away from the Whites because of the financial crises that will prevent the board from meeting his demands to ink a new deal.
