The defending champions are seeking to go level on points with EPL leaders Zamalek, who moved three points clear at the top of the table with a 3-1 comeback win over Ittihad El-Shorta on Thursday.
Emad Meteb was expected to return to Ahly’s squad for the Petrojet’s game after recovering from his injury problems but he was left out. Mohamed Abou-Treika also is still out with a calf injury.
Amir Sayoud returned to the squad after producing a superb display with Algeria’s Olympic team as he created two goals to help them to a 3-0 victory over Zambia in the 2012 London Games qualifiers.
