”Ibrahim is the first African to score a hat-trick in U-20 World Cup history” -FIFA
Egypt’s U-20 midfielder Mohamed Ibrahim is the first African player to score a hat-trick in the World Cup history.
FIFA’s official site revealed on Saturday that Egypt and Zamalek midfielder Mohamed Ibrahim is the first African player to ever score three goals in one match – hat-trick – in the history of the U-20 World Cup Championship since its start in 1977.
“Egypt’s Ibrahim was the game star against Austria in the third round of the U-20 World Cup,” read a statement on FIFA website.
The 19-year-old, who came through the youth ranks of Cairo giants Zamalek, netted three second-half goals as Egypt crushed Austria 4-0 to qualify for the World Cup round of 16.
