Yasser, who joined Zamalek in January 2010, still has three years remaining on his current deal but he seemingly chose a premature exit after growing increasingly frustrated with the Cairo giants’ failure to hand him his overdue payments.
Belgian side Lierse S.K. said on Thursday that they had signed Qatari attacking midfielder Hussein Yasser on a two-year contract although Zamalek denied giving him the green light to depart.
The 28-year-old filed a complaint with the Egyptian Football Association (EFA) last week, demanding that his Zamalek contract be terminated after the club failed to fulfill their financial obligations towards him.
