AL Ahly trashed Kima Aswan 4-0 and qualified in style to the last 16 of the Egyptian Cup.
Playmaker Walid Soliman scored his first goal with Al Ahly’s T-shirt, midfielder Shehab Ahmed extended the lead a few minutes before the interval.
Defender Mohamed Naguib and forward El-Sayed Hamdy, who also arrived this summer, notched up their maiden goals for Ahly in the second half to complete the rout.
The Egypt Cup was resumed on Tuesday following a lengthy and obligatory stoppage following January’s popular uprising. The EFA initially considered calling off Egypt’s secondary competition but eventually decided to complete it.
