Egypt-Brazil friendly match in Qatar on November 14th 2011

Brazil are set to play two games against Egypt in the coming months, according to Egyptian Football Association chairman Samir Zaher. The First match will be on November 14th 2011 in Qatar, the Second game to be held in Cairo in February.

The two sides were originally supposed to meet in a friendly at the beginning of September. However, Egypt withdrew due to commitments in the African Cup of Nations qualifiers, and were replaced by Ghana.

The Egyptian Football Association (EFA) has reached an agreement with its Qatari counterpart to hold the first Egypt-Brazil friendly match in Doha on 14 November.
�EFA Chairman Samir Zaher agreed with (Qatari monarch) Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani to host Brazil for the first of two friendlies. All details will be announced within two weeks at a press conference,� reads a statement on the association�s official website.

The second match is scheduled to be held in February in Cairo.

The Brazil friendly will be the first match for the Pharaohs under the leadership of new American coach Bob Bradley, who is expected to be in Cairo this week to watch the Olympic team, who are replacing the seniors against Niger in 2012 African Cup of Nations qualifiers next Saturday.

Egypt last met Brazil in a thrilling Confederations Cup match in 2009 under the country’s most successful coach, Hassan Shehata.

The seven-time African champions put up a brave fight but suffered a 4-3 defeat, thanks to a stoppage-time penalty from 2007 World Player of the Year Kaka.
