Egypt’s proposed friendly games with Uganda and Kenya have been called off upon an order from the Ministry of Interior, the FA said on Sunday.
After having their CAN 2013 qualifier in Central African Republic postponed to June, Egypt were supposed to host Uganda and Kenya by the end of February.
But the two friendlies have now been cancelled for security reasons.
The Egypt squad are currently holding a private camp in Cairo as domestic football has been suspended indefinitely following the tragic events of Port-Said earlier this month.
The decision from the higher authorities suggests that the Egyptian Premier League is unlikely to be resumed in the near future.
