Al Ahly defeat by Kuwaiti side Shabab in their first match after Egypts worst football disaster 3-2 in Dubai on Friday March 3rd 2012.
Looking dejected, a mourning Ahly side lost 3-2 to Kuwaits Shabab in their first match following the Port Said disaster which left 74 fans killed and scores injured on the first of February.
Ahly faced Shabab as part of their training camp in the United Arab Emirates as they prepare for their African Champions League campaign, which they kick off later this month.
Veteran playmaker Mohamed Abou-Treika converted two penalties either side of the interval but Ahly were outplayed in the second half by their modest opponents.
After scoring the opener, Abou-Treika kissed the black armband which was worn by all players and lifted it on his head as a sign of respect for the victims of the Port Said tragedy.
All domestic football activities have been suspended since thousands of Masry fans invaded the pitch to confront Ahlys visiting supporters following the end of an Egyptian Premier League game on 1 February.
