Al Ahly received a 4-3 defeat to UAE’s Emirates Club in the Reds’ final friendly in Dubai.
Brazilian striker Fabio Junior opened the scoring for the Egyptian champions but Emirates replied through Ivorian striker Modibo Diarra, who pounced on a horrendous joint-error from Ahmed Al-Sayed and Sherif Ekramy.
Fabio Junior, who scored his first Ahli goal in the ill-fated game at Masri last month, found the net again, only for the hosts hit three consecutive goals through Moroccan Mouhsine Moutoualli (twice) and Diarra.
Geddo pulled one back for Manuel Jose’s men with 19 minutes remaining but the Emirate league strugglers held on to claim a famous win over the African giants.
The Red Devils launched a closed camp in UAE within preparations for the game against Ethiopian Coffee in the 32nd round of the CAF African Champions League on 23 March. They only resumed recently, as they had a 40-day mourning period after the Port Said football stadium attacks on 1 February, which left over 70 dead – many of them Ahly fans. Since the incident, domestic football has been put on hold.
Al Ahly lost 3-2 to Kuwaiti side Shabab in their first friendly in Emirates. And Won 1-0 Against Ahly Dubai and Finaly lost today to Emirates 3-4 in UAE.
