After their CAF Champions League match in Mali, Ahly football team’s can’t leave Bamako due to serious military clashes.
Ahly football team is currently stuck in Mali due to military clashes sparked Monday in a bid to wrest back control of the capital Bamako after a coup.
The Egyptian champions were playing their first leg in the CAF Champions League Sunday against Stade Malian in which they were defeated 1-0.
“All of the team players and the technical staff members are ok but we keep hearing continues gunfire sounds around the hotel we are staying in in t ,” Goalkeepers goal Ahmed Nagy told the club’s official TV channel.
The Cairo-based club chairman Hassan Hamdy announced that he is in contact with the football team at the moment and he is trying to send a private plane to transmit them back to Egypt.
