Egypt club Ismaily has appointed Sabry El-Meniawy as head coach to succeed Mahmoud Gaber, who resigned due to illness, the coastal club revealed Saturday.
“El-Meniawy was selected by the majority of board members after studying the CVs of a number of other candidates. The board thinks El-Meniawy is the best choice,” the club revealed in a statement on its official website.
Last week, Gaber announced he would not continue in charge of Ismaily due to illness.
Al-Meniawy, who had previous spells with Ismaily, beat off competition from highly-rated MCDR coach Tarek Yehia.
Before being named manager, Al-Meniawi declared that he is ready to work for Ismaily at any time and under any circumstances.
