An Egyptian man has tricked a Saudi sports TV channel by impersonating famous coach Hassan Shehata.
The phone caller told the interviewer he was close to taking charge of Saudi Arabia club Al-Nasr, saying only minor details needed to be sorted out to complete the deal.
The interviewer, in an apparent attempt to make sure the caller was Shehata, asked him to comment on Al-Nasrs recent displays in the Saudi league. In a brief answer, the man said the club needed to perform better, prompting the presenter to rephrase the question to get a better answer, but to no avail.
My prospects of coaching Al-Nasr are more than 90 percent, the man, who sounded clearly different to Shehata, said to successfully wrap up the interview.
Shehata has been out of a job since resigning as Zamalek coach last month, following the teams 1-0 African Champions League defeat by arch-rivals Ahly.
