Gedo Sends Al Ahly to CL FINAL | Ahly 1-0 Sunshine Stars
Ahly booked their ticket to the CAF Champions League final despite an unremarkable 1-0 win over Nigerian minnows Sunshine Stars.
A quality team goal by Geddo lighted some of the gloom at an empty Air Defense Stadium, meaning that Ahli are through with a 4-3 aggregate win.
Reaching the final for the first time since 2008, six-time champs Ahly will meet holders Esperance of Tunisia for the crown of Africa’s top club-competition.
The match was preceded by some anxiety as kickoff was delayed for 30 minutes, following demonstrations near the hotel residence of Sunshine squad.
