Al Ahly is Ready for the FIFA Club Cup 2012 JAPAN

Al Ahly stunned Esperance Sportive de Tunis 2-1 (3-2 on aggregate) in Tunisia on Saturday to win a record-breaking seventh CAF Champions League and claim a place in December’s prestigious FIFA Club World Cup. The result was similar to Ahly’s 2006 title when they drew 1-1 at home in the first leg against Tunisia’s CS Sfaxien and won away in the second leg.

FIFA CLUB WORLD CUP TEAMS:

Team AFC: Ulsan Hyundai (KOR)

 

 

On 10 November, Ulsan Hyundai won the AFC Champions League with a 3-0 victory over Al Ahly and will represent Asia at the FIFA Club World Cup Japan 2012.

Team CAF: Al-Ahly SC (EGY)

The final of the CAF Champions League was won by Al Ahly of Egypt, who beat Esperance over two legs to book their place in the FIFA Club World Cup.

Team UEFA: Chelsea FC (ENG)

Chelsea won the UEFA Champions League on 19 May 2012 in Munich, Germany. As the winner, they will represent Europe at the FIFA Club World Cup Japan 2012.

Team CONCACAF: CF Monterrey (MEX)

Mexican sides Santos Laguna and Monterrey met in the two-legged final of the CONCACAF Champions League on 18 and 25 April 2012. Monterrey won 3-2 on aggregate and will represent North, Central America and the Caribbean at the FIFA Club World Cup Japan 2012.

Team OFC: Auckland City FC (NZL)

The final of the OFC O-League took place over two legs on 29 April and 12 May between New Zealand’s Auckland City and Tahiti’s AS Tefana, with Auckland winning 3-1 on aggregate to represent Oceania at the FIFA Club World Cup Japan 2012.

Team CONMEBOL: Corinthians (BRA)

On 4 July, Corinthians won the Copa Libertadores and were crowned champions of South America. They will represent the continent at the FIFA Club World Cup Japan 2012.

The champions of Japan’s J-League – the country’s top domestic competition – will represent the host nation at the FIFA Club World Cup Japan 2012.
