Ali have appointed Mohamed Youssef as interim manager in place of Hossam Al-Badry, the Egyptian champions announced.
Former defender Youssef, who has been working as an assistant to Al-Badry, will be in charge until the end of the domestic season.
Meanwhile, Ahly issued a strong statement criticizing Al-Badry’s decision to quit midway through the season.
“The Ahly football committee expresses utter disappointment for the irresponsible manner of Hossam Al-Badry,” the statement read.
“Al-Badry’s decision to quit before the end of the season is not the act of one of Ahly’s sons.”
Al-Badry leaves Ahly on top of the Egyptian Premier League Group A, two points clear of ENPPI.
