Barcelona & PSG in ‘audacious’ summer bid for Mo Salah

According to a recent report from Sport, Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah is open to the idea of making a switch to Barcelona or PSG.

However, he’d only entertain such an idea if his contract at Anfield expires, which is set to happen next summer if they can’t come to some kind of an agreement on a new deal.

Salah has enjoyed the best years of his career at the Reds but if they can’t offer him what he desires, it wouldn’t be at all surprising to see him entertain a few other clubs.

PSG and Barcelona would almost certainly put forward lucrative deals with the intention of enticing the Egyptian sensation. Jurgen Klopp will obviously want him to stay, provided the money is right, but it also depends on what Salah wants from his future.

Barça have made Borussia Dortmund superstar Erling Haaland their top target for the summer but, according to AS, there’s a feeling that Manchester City are leading the race.

The Catalan club will look to use their good relationship with agent Mino Raiola and the lure of living in the city to try and tempt the Norwegian but the newspaper believes Salah is their plan B.

Barcelona believe they could get their man for a fee of around £59million, and at the age of 29 Salah still has plenty of top level football left in him.

Given the financial situation at Camp Nou they would likely have to make sales first but their Financial Fair Play cap is set to be higher for next season.

If Salah has not renewed by the time the window opens Liverpool may look to cash in and recoup some value for their star man.

Spanish journalist Jorge Romero reports that Lionel Messi’s camp have also reached out to Barça about the potential of a return.

However, his €30million (£25m) net salary per season is seen as being too high for the La Liga giants to afford, while Paris Saint-Germain will not want to lose the Argentine star after just one season.
