Four wins in a Row: Al Ahly Down Kahabaa Ismailia 4-2
Ahly overpowered Kahabaa Ismailia 4-2 on Saturday, stretching their winning streak to four games and moving level with Masry and Zamalek at the top of the Egyptian Premier League.
Ahly tightened their title push with a 4-2 victory after a dramatic clash on Saturday.
Ahmed “Koka” Nabil set the tone early, striking in the 17th minute, before Yassin Marie’s header doubled the lead just before the half-hour mark to give Ahly control at the break.
Mohamed Sherif made it 3-0 five minutes into the second half, but the visitors mounted a spirited fightback. Mohamed Ounajem pulled one back in the 57th minute, and Essam El Fayoumi added another just 11 minutes later to put the game back in the balance.
Any hopes of a comeback were dashed when Moroccan winger Achraf Bencharki curled in a stunning free-kick in the 73rd minute, sealing the win for the Red Devils.
The result delivered Ahly their fifth victory of the season and fourth on the bounce, pushing them up to third place on 18 points—level with leaders Masry and second-placed Zamalek, though trailing both on goal difference. Importantly, Ahly still have a game in hand.
