Bakri Al-Madina proved to be a defensive nightmare for Zamalek as he scored a goal and set up the other in Al-Hilal’s 2-1 victory over the Egyptians on Friday in the African Champions League.
The 26-year old striker dribbled down the left side and gave a neat pass to Mohamed Bashir “Besha” inside the box to break the deadlock for the first goal of the match in the 34th minute.
The energetic international was a constant threat for Zamalek’s defense throughout the whole game and managed to create several clear-cut chances for his teammates and himself but a heroic performance by keeper Ahmed El-Shennawy kept the score line tight.
At the hour mark Zamalek’s flashy winger Mostafa Fathi caught the Sudanese defense napping as he ghosted past a couple of defenders to slot a goal past the keeper from close range.
Turning from provider to scorer, Al-Madina tricked Zamalek’s shaky defense once more to fire from the edge of the area into the bottom left corner of the goal to clinch a deserved winner.
Al-Hilal are now third in the group with seven points while Zamalek are at bottom with just four points in six games.
