Zamalek will have a tough mission on Friday when they face Maqassa in a delayed game from the fifth week of the Egyptian League at Suez stadium.

Friday’s game will be the last chance for Zamalek coach Mohamed Helmi to keep his post after tension with the team’s management that ran over the last week.

Zamalek’s demanding president Mortada Mansour expressed his displeasure over the team’s poor performance under the guidance of Helmi stressing that the team’s performance is “unconvincing.”

The White Knights resumed their league campaign with a stunning 2-1 defeat to Intag Harby before claiming unconvincing wins over Talae Al-Geuish 2-1 and Nasr Taaden 2-0.

Zamalek’s narrow 1-0 win over second division side Harras El-Hodoud in the Egypt Cup round of 16 last week raised tension at the club and Mansour said that coach Helmi could lose his post due to the team’s poor performance.

Midfielders Ahmed Tawfiq, Mahmoud Abdel-Atti and defenders Mohamed Nacef and Mahmoud Hamdi are all out due to injury.

Zamalek are third in the league table with 40 points, 12 points behind leaders Ahly who have played two games more.
